About
Christian is a photographer and retouching artist, based between the Hudson Valley and New York City.

He earned his BFA in Photography from Bard College in 2012 where he developed his diaristic approach to the medium, inviting an interpretation of the snapshot, inspired by closeness and concerned with all aspects of play.

DeFonte’s commissioned work is similarly concerned with achieving a sense of intimacy that is built on trust and respect.

His current focus, next to continuing his personal visual diary, is set on his ongoing collaborations and artist studio portraits.

Photographs from these projects have been featured in various print and web publications including Vogue, W, WWD, Cultured Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Elle, Document Journal, Interview, Out, Novembre, Kaleidoscope, Essence, Cura, and more.
